THE IMPERATIVE SENTENCES

Imperative sentences adalah kalimat yang digukan untuk menyatakan perintah atau permintaan, Contoh: turn on the lamp before you enter to the room.

Variasi bentuk imperative sentences

POSITIVE FORM

1. Menggunakan “please” yang diletakan diawal atau di akhir kalimat.

Contoh: Please turn on the lamp. Turn on the lamp, please. 

2.Menggunakan Could/Would you……… (please)?

Contoh: Could you turn on the lamp before you enter to the room, please? Atau Would you please turn on the lamp before you enter to the room?

3. Menggunakan Would/Do you mind + verb-ing…….. (please)?

Contoh: Would you mind turning on the lamp before you enter to the room, please? Atau Do you mind turning on the lamp before you enter to the room?

NEGATIVE FORM

1.Menggunakan Don’t yang diletakan didepan imperative dan akan menjadi lebih sopan bila dikasih please di awal/diakhir kalimat.

Contoh: Don’t turn on the lamp! Please don’t turn on the lamp (lebih sopan).

2. Menggunakan Not setelah kata mind. Dan akan menjadi lebih sopen jika di kasih please diawal/diakhir kalimat.

Contoh: Would you mint not turning on the lamp? Do you mind not turning on the lamp, please?
